So, here you are: finally in Rome and looking for the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset in the eternal city with your special one. If you want to admire “il cielo rosso su Roma” (like a famous Italian song says), well, you’re in the right place!

Here you will find our favourite spots to watch the sunset, including suggestions and directions to reach them. Let’s start:

  1. Parco Savello – a.k.a. Giardino degli Aranci: il giardino degli aranci (the garden of oranges) is definetly one of our staff favourite places to see the sunset. Located on the Aventine hill, it’s extremely romantic and quiet, and for this reason is one of the favourite spots to chill out for the locals, where they can relax listening to the romantic songs played by the street artists while the look at the sun sinking into the horizon. If you give it a try, we guarantee that you won’t be disappointed! It is also close to the very famous “buco della serratura”, the keyhole through which you will be able to admire a wonderful telescoped view of St. Peter’s dome , symmetrically framed by the hedges of the garden of Priory of the Knights of Malta .
    • How to get there: take the Line B and get off at Circo Massimo, from here it’s an 11 minute walk.

  1. Terrazza del Pincio & Terrazza Viale del Belvedere: located upstairs the Spanish steps, above Piazza del Popolo, this beautiful terraces will leave you breatheless. Terrazza del Pincio is located in Villa Borghese, one of the most beautiful parks of Rome. We also suggest you to have a walk in the park, because it is one of Rome’s highlights. If you’re on a date, also at night it is very special, with an almost magical atmosphere.
    • How to get there: you can get there in two ways: from Piazza del Popolo (Flaminio Metro A Stop), taking the road on your left and heading up the stairs, or from Trinità dei Monti, walking leaving the Spanish Steps on your left. We suggest the latter, because the walk is beautiful!
